While the pilots are still very much in progress, we continue to work hard to get more functionalities ready. One we would like to address here is the use of a mobile phone to turn down (or up) the heat, while you’re not at home.

With the Qbox becoming the energy-center of a home or small commercial building, it will become capable of controlling more and more systems in your house. One of the main energy-consumers is of course the heating and cooling system. Most of those are controlled by a thermostat that is cumbersome to program and does not allow for remote control. Enter the Qbox.

With the Qbox connected to the heater, thermostat and the internet, now you can start controlling your heater with anything that also has an internet connection! Just went on a holiday and forgot to set the thermostat low? Going home early from work? Working late in the attic and the thermostat goes into night-mode? In all these situations, you can use your mobile phone, laptop or pc to make the changes you want. Through a text message, a mobile web-browser, a desktop widget etc. Whatever your user interface or preference, with the Qbox they all become connected to your home energy system!

Okay, we like this too. But we need a bit more time before we can start offering the Qbox, so please stay Qurrent!
