The Qserver ::

Local Energy Network Database

The Qserver is the core of the Qurrent system for decentralized energy networks. Its main role is to store all data being measured by all member Qboxes and then to present it through the Qmunity website. While the name is singular, in reality the Qserver will consist of many clustered servers spread out over different locations to ensure the highest levels of data security and speed.

Every Qbox sends data to the Qserver every few minutes over a secure internet connection. The Qserver receives the data, verifies the data-integrity and then stores it in the powerful database to be retrieved later.

:: What it is
The Qserver is a combination of hardware servers, a database engine and custom software for the communications with the Qbox. As a whole, this systems comprises the Qserver.

:: What it does
The Qserver first receives measurement data from the Qboxes. It then validates and verifies the data. Then it proceeds to storing the data in de database. Once the storage procedure is successfully completed, the Qserver handles a request from the Qmunity website to present the data on the web. The Qserver processes the request, selects the data from the vast amount of data and sends the selected information back to the webserver where it is presented in a clear graph.

:: High standards
The Qserver uses exclusively proven technologies from dependable software and hardware suppliers. Multiple levels of redundancy have been applied to almost every element of the system. By using proven and stable components and technologies, not only do we improve the durability of the Qserver, we also make ourselves more independent of one or two suppliers, keeping development costs competitive.
